This website is dedicated to hosting the project files for the ReplicatorBot project.

ReplicatorBots presently are the crazy feverish dream of a nut wanting to modify the epic  MakerBots to have an input facility.

As it stands, the MakerBot generates physical Real-World 3D objects, it's most awesome.

Now, suppose I want to make more copies of an existing object. With the current MakerBot, I'd have to create/acquire a copy of a  3D STL file to pull that off.. Well, the ReplicatorBot will augment the MakerBot to have what it needs to generate a  STL from an object.

So essentially, we're working on getting cups of Earl Grey damned fast.

Current Status

The team is progressing nicely. We have an image processing algorithm worked out (refining will probably be needed), our scanner body/casing is designed and the laser/camera/turntable parts of the scanner are at about 50% functionality.

We're on track for having things working fairly well by late March.

The following video shows a trivial, but fun little demo of the turntable mechanism at work.
